Why You’ll Love This Strawberry Fruit Dip
Delicious Details
- Cuisine Inspiration: American

My boys are just like their mama – they both have a sweet tooth. So ever since they were little, I’ve looked for how we can satisfy those dessert cravings in a way that we can all feel good about enjoying on a daily basis. And if that dreamy treat can get the kiddos to eat more fruit, then that’s a double win. Especially when it tastes like cheesecake!
Creamy and just sweet enough, this strawberry fruit dip is loaded with juicy fresh strawberries for color and taste. A little vanilla and honey plus chocolate chips add flavor, making this a perfect strawberry dip for fruit, cookies, crackers, or whatever else you can think of. Here’s why you’ll love this recipe:
- Cheesecake without the work. I love making a batch of this strawberry dip when I’m hankering for cheesecake but don’t have time to invest in putting together the whole dessert! It takes just minutes to whip this dip, which is like a deconstructed cheesecake, especially if you dip in gluten free graham crackers.
- Gluten Free. You’ll note that all of the ingredients in this strawberry fruit dip are naturally gluten-free, making it a great choice for a quick gluten-free dessert. You do have the option to make it dairy-free too.
- Versatile. Use this strawberry dip for fruit recipe as a starting place for all sorts of adaptations, including making it with other fruit and other sweeteners. I’ve included more options lower down.
What You’ll Need
Just a few ingredients are all you’ll need to make this pretty and fruity dessert dip. I’ve outlined them for you below. Don’t forget to check the recipe card lower down for the full ingredient amounts.
- Strawberries: Ripe, in-season strawberries will infuse this dip with pure strawberry flavor.
- Cream Cheese: You can use block or whipped cream cheese in this strawberry dip.
- Honey: Substitute a sweetener of your choice if needed. You can add or subtract the sweetener to your preference.
- Vanilla Extract: Use pure vanilla extract for the best flavor.
- Greek Yogurt: Full-fat, low-fat, or non-fat Greek yogurt will all work in this recipe, just make sure to use plain yogurt.
- Mini Chocolate Chips: These are optional, but very nice if you want a little hint of chocolate flavor!
- Fruit, Graham Crackers, etc.: For dipping. Use gluten-free crackers or cookies if needed.
How to Make Strawberry Fruit Dip
You’ll need a blender or food processor to whip this dip into creamy perfection. You can see how to make it below. Find the detailed instructions in the recipe card lower down.
- Puree. In a blender, puree the strawberries.
- Add other ingredients. Blend in the cream cheese, honey, and vanilla.
- Combine. Add the puree to the yogurt in a bowl and mix.
- Add chocolate. Stir in the chocolate chips, if using.
- Serve. Serve the dip with fruit and graham crackers!
Tips & Variations
I love making this strawberry dip with different types of fruit, or even a combination of fruit!
- Bring the cream cheese to room temperature. When working with cream cheese, it’s ideal to bring it to room temperature before mixing it with the other ingredients. This will help the dip turn out wonderfully smooth and creamy.
- Try other fruit. Use the general method to make this dip and instead of strawberries, try another berry! Raspberries work especially well in place of the strawberries. I also love to make this with blueberries or blackberries.
- Use a different sweetener. If you prefer, you can try a different sweetener instead of the honey. Maple syrup is a nice choice, or if needed you can use granulated sugar.
- Omit the sugar. Or, you can leave out the sweetener altogether if you want a less sweet dip, or if your fruit is very ripe and sweet. Using mashed banana is another way to get natural sweetness.
- Make it dairy-free. To make this strawberry fruit dip dairy-free, use a dairy-free yogurt and dairy-free cream cheese.
How to Store Strawberry Dip for Fruit
Place strawberry fruit dip in an airtight container and store it in the fridge for up to 5 days. I don’t recommend freezing this dip because the dairy will separate when it’s defrosted, affecting the taste and texture.
Serving Suggestions
The simplest dipping option for strawberry dip is, you guessed it, whole strawberries! I also like to dip apple or pear slices into this pretty dessert dip. Or, try some of these suggestions:
- Cookies. Cookies are a perfect choice to dip! I love Gluten Free Vanilla Wafers for a sweet dipping treat or try Mexican Hot Chocolate Cookies for a little kick of flavor contrast.
- Graham crackers. Serve strawberry fruit dip with Gluten Free Graham Crackers to create a cheesecake vibe.
- Add a drizzle of chocolate. Serve strawberry dip with a generous spoonful of Homemade Hot Fudge Sauce drizzled across the top for extra chocolate flavor.
- Fruit. As noted, apple, pear, or strawberry slices are wonderful paired with strawberry dip. You could also top banana slices with dip or try it with juicy rings of pineapple.
- Pretzels. Pick up a bag of gluten-free pretzels to dip into this strawberry dip for a sweet and salty crisp flavor bite.

Hi Brianne,
Just wondering what I can use in place of the Greek yogurt? I cannot have yogurt. Would you use milk, heavy whipping cream?
Thanks!
You could use heavy cream that you’ve whipped or cool whip. It might be a fluffier/softer texture but would still be tasty.
