Easy Teriyaki Shrimp

How do I make tender, flavorful shrimp?

Shrimp cook quickly, and overcooking is the biggest culprit for tough, chewy shrimp. That's why this teriyaki shrimp recipe is so good. The sauce is loaded with flavorful ingredients.  After you've given the shrimp a quick saute, just pour the sauce over them and it thickens and coats them instantly. It doesn't need a long cooking time to infuse plenty of flavor.

Make the Sauce

Stir the soy sauce, water, rice wine vinegar, light brown sugar, honey, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and cornstarch together. Set aside.

Cook the Shrimp

Saute the shrimp for a minute or two on each side until they are just pink.

Add the Sauce

Pour the sauce over the shrimp and toss to coat.

Thicken the Sauce

Let it cook for another couple of minutes until the teriyaki sauce is thickened.

Serve the Shrimp

You can garnish the shrimp with sesame seeds, scallions, and shredded carrots.

Enjoy the Meal

Spoon the shrimp over rice, cauliflower rice, or noodles. Add a side of your favorite veggies.
