Flat iron steak is a well-marbled cut from the shoulder area. While it lends itself to many diffeent cooking methods, grilling really highlights its rich flavor. To add even more juiciness and a smoky-sweet crust, this easy balsamic marinade is ideal!
Combine the marinade ingredients in a zip-top bag or a shallow dish and mix them together.
Add the steak and coat it throughly. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight.
Remove the flat iron steak from the marinade and season with salt and pepper.
Preheat the grill to medium-high, and grill for 3-5 minutes per side or to your desired doneness.
Let the steak rest for 5-10 minutes to seal in the juices.
Slice the steak and serve with your favorite side dishes.
