Greek Beef Kabobs

What kind of steak is good for kabobs?

Since these skewers are marinated for several hours, the lemon juice will break down the meat and tenderize it. That means you can skip the pricier cuts like filet mignon and ribeye. This beef souvlaki recipe uses a lean and affordable cut of beef top round that is cut into cubes.

Cut the Meat

Gather your marinade ingredients and cut the beef into 1 1/4-inch cubes.

Make the Marinade

Combine the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper and mix it together.

Add the Beef

Pour the marinade over the steak cubes or add them to the bag with the marinade.

Marinate the Steak

Seal the bag, press out air, and rerigerate for at least 2 hours.

Chop the Veggies

In the meantime, cut the peppers and onions about the same size as the steak cubes.

Make the Kabobs

Thread the meat and vegetables onto the skewers, placing tomatoes at the end.

Grill the Kabobs

Place the kabobs on a medium-high grill and cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping once.

Serve and Enjoy

Serve beef souvlaki with rice, pita, Greek salad, tzatziki, or your favorite sides.
