When it is hot and sunny, you need something to cool you down. You also need something the kids can grab when they are home for the summer and asking for about ten million snacks a day.

Since they are eating every ten minutes, you want to give them a snack you can all feel good about. Especially since I am sure you’ll be sneaking one yourself.

Of course, this is a perfect treat for the little ones, but I thought it almost tasted like a strawberry margarita. An adult version with a bit of tequila doesn’t sound like a bad idea!

This four-ingredient treat is nearly all fruit, with just a little honey or agave nectar to sweeten it up just a tad. These easy ice pops are gluten free, can be made vegan, and don’t require any cooking.

Just chop some fruit and fire up the blender. Then pour the fruit puree into a mold and freeze. What more could you want in the summer?

What You’ll Need

  • Mango
  • Strawberries
  • Lime
  • Honey or Agave Nectar
  • mango splitter is one of my favorite kitchen tools. A mango pit is so large and the fruit clings to it. There is almost no way to avoid leaving behind so much of that sweet, sunny fruit unless you use one of these.

Pro tip – Use edge of a glass to scrape the flesh out of the skin. Check out the video in this Mango Avocado Salsa recipe to see how it’s done.

  • I love using a strawberry huller to remove the green leaves and the white, bitter hull of the strawberry. Press it into the top of the strawberry, push the little button, and it spits out the guts.

Pro tip – if your strawberries have big leaves, rip them off first so you don’t get bits of leaves and stem stuck to the berries. Also, ones that have started to get a bit soft don’t work as well. But in general, the design is just brilliant!

  • This citrus juicer makes quick work of those limes. It takes hardly any effort to get a ton of juice out of any lime of any size.
  • I took these photos before I bought it, but these days, this is my favorite popsicle mold because of the classic shape, and the lid to keep out freezer burn and hold the sticks in place.
